Christmas Eve Lovefeast and Candlelight Service

Join us December 24 at 7:30 p.m. as we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

The lovefeast is modeled after the early church’s agape meals.  The Moravian tradition is of sharing a small meal (juice and a bun) with singing, music and fellowship.  It signifies our union and equality along with being an expression of God’s grace and love

The lighting of candles is rich with symbolism and dates back to 1747.  The bees wax is a sign of purity, the light reminds us that the light is in the world.  There is a red taper at the bottom of the candle, it’s purpose is not solely to catch the wax but reminds us of the blood that Christ shed for us all

Correction: Mortgage Burning to be October 21st

The mortgage burning celebration has been moved to Sunday, October 21st which is our Anniversary Sunday. Join us that Sunday as we commemorate the founding of our faith community during our worship service with a Moravian Lovefeast*. Then stick around after the service for the mortgage burning and hot dog roast. See you then.

* A Moravian Lovefeast is a simple meal (usually a sweet roll or cookie of some sort and coffee or punch) typically consumed during the course of a worship service. We take time out of our service to eat, drink and enjoy each other’s company as both a real and symbolic representation of the value we place on our togetherness.

Mortgage Burning Party

After our church Service on Sunday, October 21th we will gather outside around a bonfire, and after partaking in a small ceremony together, will burn our mortgage. After many years of hard work and dedication this momentous occasion has finally arrived. We have paid off our mortgage. Following the mortgage burning we will roast hot dogs, toast marshmallows and enjoy each other’s companionship, sharing stories of the many years of ministry and fellowship that have taken place here over the years. So mark your calendars, bring your appetite and join in the celebration!

Rally Day! Sunday, Sept. 16th

Join us on Sunday, September 16 for Rally Day. During the service we will commission and show support for our Sunday School leaders as they embark on a new year of teaching. Then stick around after church for our waffle picnic. Waffles with all the fixin’s will be served and, weather permitting, be eaten outside. It will be a great time to make new friends and catch up with old ones.  Join in the fun!
